I lived through one whole year of running!!!
I ran the entire 2012 xc season and the post season and participated in all of my relevant races.
Participated in Footlocker West Regionals (Mt. SAC)
Junior Year
XC: PRed every course every race and ended the year with a PR of 18:00 (Snow Canyon)
Was able to participate in Nike West Regionals.
Short-Term Running Goals: Well, I have much higher hopes for this year. I want to be more committed to making myself faster and more healthy. I want a good position, and to feel good about every race I run. (A bit unrealistic, but cool to dream.)
That was probably the weirdest goal I have ever set. anyway here are some real ones
T&F- 3200: ?
1600: sub 5:00
800: I don't know what a realistic time is. I'll come back to this after next week.
400: sub 0:55
XC 2014: Break 18:00
Long-Term Running Goals: I am very interested in keeping and developing this throughout my life.

I may run in college.
I wan't to run for fun after highschool.
10 mile finish
1/2 marathon finish
and if I'm feeling saucy, marathon finish Personal: When opportunity knocks, and I'm not home, opportunity waits.

| | ran the region course today. I need to be more focused and stretch directly after the runs. I was a bit better about it today. I hope to not be doing two miles ever again and only continuing to increase my mileage and be much better than last year. | |
| | We did the 6 min vVo2 Max test to day. One mile warm up with equal cool down. I went 1427 meters. |
| | I only did one park way loop. |
| | Some nice hills in Coral Canyon today. |
| | We did the 15 min vVo2 Max test to day. I feel like I should have gone faster, but it's all good. I went 2 miles and 227 meters. |
| | We did the big 30 30s today. My distance was 122 meters, and I did 31 reps. After I got all cooled down, I thought I should have done more, but I think I'm fine at the moment. I need to start really getting all my mileage in. All in all, a very formidable, but good workout. | |
| | I did some pretty easy thousands today. I ran with some people that had to hit similar times. Personally I had to hit 5:26 three times. By the end of the third I was starting to feel it, but that's probably because my first rep was about 40 seconds faster that what I needed, and both reps afterward were below time. |
| | We did the grass run today, which I have noticed that it is slowly but surely moving closer to Monday. I ran with the majority group of guys (level 2/3) and had a good bout of striders. |
| | I think that the 30/30s were lots harder today. But we were told they would be harder because of increased recovery distance. I really need to stretch! Not being good about stretching is probably going to hurt now and later. Good workout though, I managed 24 reps. Which is quite different then last time, but that was to be expected. |

Morning--We did the thousands workout up at the dirt mile. I did four reps and felt pretty good about all of them. I beat my target time by about 20 seconds every rep. But this time I could feel more strain then last time, probably the extra rep. All in all, really good workout, and I hit 5 miles total.
Afternoon--We had our first afternoon run today. Destination; Arctic Circle. Temperature; hovering around 102. It was a bit hard, to be honest. The heat was a bit of a shock. But, it was fun. And we were introduced to a new lift for our hips. fun (ish). | |
| | Morning--We did our grass run today. I did four miles followed by 8 striders. Kids club went well today. Thanks to the coaches for helping us. | |
| | We did the 30/30 workout today with a one mile warm up and cool down. I did 16 reps(which is 8 less than last time). I was supposed to cover half of my 122 meters on my cool down, but for the first 6 or 7 recoveries we where going much to far. I just need to learn how to pace myself early on no matter what everyone else around me is doing. I know what I need to hit, so I need to go out and hit it. But, being in a good group is much better than being alone in this workout. |
| | Morning--We did thousands today. The level twos were upped to five repeats. I had an interesting run because I had not stretched enough beforehand, but everything turned out alright. I wasn't running with the main group of level twos, but I beat my time every repeat. I just didn't beat it by 30 or so seconds this time. |
| | My legs were pretty sore and tight today. Definitely need to stretch. I did 2 for the grass run today plus one mile striders. Kids club was pretty fun today. I was excited to see all the kids who were interested in the Red Rock Runners team. |
| | I did 15 30/30s + 1 mile warm + 1 mile cool. Kids club was cool. I was glad most of the kids were having fun too. |
| | P.M. was a bit late coming to practice but I caught up pretty well. I never quite caught the main group. My legs didn't feel so awesome, and the last half mile was really slow. But swimming at Coach's house was really fun! |
| | A.M. We did a hill workout today, I did 4x1minute and 4x30seconds. I thought it went great. My legs only hurt for a bit at the beginning, and I felt I pushed the workout nicely. |

A.M. Did some good Thousands(6 repeats) and I was hitting my, slightly lowered, times.
6.25 miles
P.M. Our first run up at camp was a good 4 miler. the first two were on a slight down hill and we came back the same way after us level twos broke off from the level threes. It was a good way to kick off camp.

A.M. We set out on our long run for the week (level twos were going 8). It was a really good run up through the woods. It was a bit hard, but I felt good afterwards.
P.M. 3 miles out past the lake. I felt bad in the legs, but some stretching helped. Then went back to the lake. |

A.M. We did our long hill for the week and went 5 total. I definitely felt a lot better going down.
P.M. This was a 3 mile trail run down into a valley and back. I felt like I was flying going down and it was really pretty on the trail. Going back up was the hardest part, but I made it. (Thanks Andrew) |

I went 4ish miles. we went up a road that was kind of hard, and coming back, I fell a bit behind and didn't quite take the right way back across the stream and accidentally took a short cut. But I kind of rounded it out by running back around into camp with Coach. It was a great day to end an awesome camp. |

A.M. I did thousands today. I had to do 6 reps with our percentages bumped up to 85%. Looking at my times, I saw that I pretty much was a bit too fast for all but one of my repeats.
P.M. It was hot... I finally got my brother out to weights and had to show him the ropes. and we did plyos for the first time. |

Our 30/30 workout morphed into a minute on/minute off workout, and I did 9 repeats. I'm excited for the time trial tomorrow. I hope for a PR. The time to beat 13:50.
Today was also our last day of kids club, and it went really well. It was cool to see all these kids run this year. |

Pine View Time Trial (2 Miles) 00:13:23 | | We started from the high school for the first time for morning practice, and I went on a 1.5 warm up and was feeling ready to race. The race went well overall, but I think that I may have been able to do a bit better. I meet my goal, witch is awesome!!! Then went on a 1.5 cool down, and did a mile of striders. |
| | We went out to the Little Valley Fields park and did a grass run and that felt nice. Then we went out to the hill over by there and I did 5x1 and 3x30sec. I, along with a few others, were surprised at how far up we got on the first minute. we got all the way to the top of the second hill. It was a good workout overall.
